The lost bud tax
We keep a drawer of single earbuds customers bring back. Left only. Right only. Almost always after a rickshaw or a gym session. TWS is brilliant until one piece is in your ear and the other is under a bench at Anarkali.
Neckbands look old in Instagram ads. They still hang around your neck when you pay the vendor. That is not fashion. That is insurance.
Pick TWS if…
- Your ears seal well with the included tips and buds do not pop out when you chew.
- You mostly walk, drive with AC, or sit in office—not lean over a bike handle daily.
- You want a small case and you are disciplined about putting both pieces back.
- Calls matter and you verified ENC on your phone, not on a demo video.
Pick a neckband if…
- You ride a bike or metro and take one side off constantly.
- You sweat hard and hate wiping a case lid.
- You lose small objects and you know it about yourself.
- You want ten-hour battery without charging the case at lunch.
Hybrid reality in 2026
Some TWS cases clip to bags. Some neckbands fold small. Neither category is pure anymore. Still, physics has not changed: two separate buds will always be easier to misplace than one band.
