Why fakes love fast-charger keywords

Listings chase 65W, GaN, and Super Fast because those words sell. The chip inside might be a 12W relic with extra plastic. We smell returns before we open the box: burnt sugar odour through the shrink wrap is never normal.

Five checks that take ninety seconds

• Weight: GaN bricks have some heft. Air-light cubes are suspicious.
• Label table on the back: real units list each port voltage and amp combo. One line that says 65W Max with no table is a guess.
• Plug pins: solid brass pins that do not wiggle. Loose pins arc inside Pakistani boards.
• Heat at five minutes: warm palm okay, cannot hold is a return.
• Cable mark: 60W or 5A printed on USB-C cable jacket. Missing mark means the charger will never hit advertised speed.
